Getting dressed for success
The Ipswich Hospital clobber swap is back.
After raising more than £900 for cancer charities last year, the hospital is once again urging people to swap tops, trade trousers and share shoes.
The event, this year being held on Saturday, 27 February, is organised by maxillofacial nurse specialist Allison Weston.
She said: “Last year was a fantastic day with hundreds of visitors and we would like to double the amount of money that we raise this year.
“We ask people to bring along any good condition adult clothing and accessories and for each item they donate, they can choose a swap for free.
“Any clobber left at the end of the day is sent to local charities so there is no waste at all.”
Admission to the event is £2 per person. It is then a minimum donation of £1 for each item you would like if you have nothing to swap. There will be mirrors, changing areas, refreshments and a raffle.
Unwanted clobber can also be donated at the hospital, at Clinic F reception, the week before the event (from Monday, 22 February).
All swappers will be able to park for free, in car park J (on the right hand side as you come in the main Heath Road entrance).
If you would like to make a donation before the event, visit www.justgiving.com/clobberswap
The Clobber Swap is in the Postgraduate Centre, from 11 am to 4pm. Please contact Allison Weston or Alison Hines on 01473 703200) for any further information.
