This hospital is committed to listening to and acting on the views and opinions of people who use our services, their carers and to our staff in order to provide a patient-centred service which responds to the needs of the community.

promote patient involvement in their own care, as active partners with professionals;
enable patients to become informed about their treatment and care and to make informed decisions and choices about it, if they wish;
make sure that patients, the public and staff have the knowledge, skills and support they need so that they can influence planning, delivery and monitoring of health services;
actively involve patients and the public in planning, delivery and monitoring of our services;
acknowledge and act upon information we receive from patients and the public; and
feed back to patients and the public how their involvement has influenced the operation of The Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust.
