How does membership work?
Public members must be over 16 years old and live in Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex or Cambridgeshire.
Meanwhile, all staff will be given an equal opportunity to participate.
Membership is voluntary and free of charge and obligation, and is broken down into three levels:

Informed members will receive and be asked to give feedback on newsletters, annual reports and business plans, for example. They will also act as a channel for giving information to non-members and gauge public opinion on the hospital’s reputation and services. They will also vote in elections. |

Involved members will be asked to take part in surveys and consultations and focus and user groups. They will be invited to attend open days and act as an ambassador for the trust. They will also adopt the roles of informed members. |

Active members will stand for election as governors, raise the views of their constituents, attend formal meetings and lobby, fundraise and volunteer. They will also carry out the informed and involved members roles. |
